Billabong Sports Fishing
Billabong Sportsfishing is home to some of the best fishing on the planet, offering the best locations with years of local knowledge on hand.
Fishing the far northern areas of Queensland, Australia and north into Papua New Guinea.
Fishing Hinchinbrook and Cape York targeting the prime sportfish in these unique locations is what dreams are made of.
Whether it’s Black Marlin or Barramundi, Black Bass or Permit, Giant Trevally or anything in between.
We’ll do our best to put you in the picture and achieve your goals, giving people what they want and having a great time doing it, that’s what we’re all about.
Fishing and guiding in the north for many years is what puts our guides on top of their game. Both fly and lure anglers are well catered for, fishing out of purpose built boats.
Choosing only to fish the prime areas and remote locations gives you the best opportunities to fulfil your angling requirements and get just what you expect from a professional charter company.
The right gear, the right guides, the right locations.
Dave Bradley has been guiding in the north since 1997, he is the only born and breed local guide, which really makes a difference on those days when the fish are playing hard to get.
Dave started lure and flyfishing the area about 1986, when flyfishing in the north was hardly heard of and rarely seen.
Dave is well known as a leading guide and fisherman over the north, which lead him to start business as a guide in the first place.
Many tournament wins and placings, not only in his backyard but also in waters new to him, are proof of Dave’s ability to find fish and perform on a regular basis.
Our team has had wins at Hinchinbrook Tag & Release, Lake Proserpine Barra Tournament, FNQ Interclub tournaments, Townsville Billfish and more.
Dave is a well known Barramundi guide amongst the Japanese Bass anglers, fishing with some of the countries leading professional fishermen and tackle manufactures, Mr Suzuki from “Fisherman” tackle company and Mr Sano Sadao of “Atelier” tackle, both men have returned and sent friends along. As well as some of the countries leading Professional Bass fishers, swapping ideas and techniques on lure & fly fishing.
Being a G Loomis & Abel Pro Staff means Dave supplies quality tackle for his clients and works with the companies on R & D. Professionalism and honesty towards clients are Dave’s priorities, not to mention having a good time while trying to achieve their goals
Being in and around the tackle/guiding industry for quite sometime I have heard of a few unaspiring guiding operations, I can assure you this is not one of them, most of our business is through word of mouth and return cliental. Under no circumstances do any of our guides fish during the charter unless requested to, or providing demonstrations of techniques.
Most of our clients become our friends and this is how we like it.
