Giant Trevally and Bluewater.
A bit of a change of pace last week, I got together with a couple of guys I’ve worked with over the years on Gameboats and Cape York motherships and we hit the high seas.
Well the first few days the high seas where flat calm, “they can’t make it calm enough to scare me” quotes Tim Ryan, while up stairs Jim Bladin keeps a keen eye on a bait school we’re heading for.
This was the result.
One of the biggest Spanish Mackeral any of us had seen, Yellow Fin Tuna galore and plenty of small Spanish and Shark Mackeral.
Throw in a few Mack Tuna and a couple missed bites off Marlin and that was the first day, which was mirrored through the remainder of the trip, except for a few sessions of GT popper fishing where at times we where beating them off with sticks, coming thick and fast in packs of 3 & 4 to each popper. All this had the clients leaving with big smiles and aching arms.
