Just inbetween Cape York gigs at the moment, the last week was spent at Archer River with 6 lure fishing clients.

There was some good sight fishing for Barramundi & Threadfin Salmon on the extensive mud & sand flats. As well as some monster Queenfish held up in the river mouth. The clients all had a great week & threatened to come back again next year.

Hinchinbrook is having it’s coldest winter for some time, Barramundi are a bit slower this time of year but when you find the right conditions they are willing to eat a well presented fly or lure. Trevally & Queenfish are loving the clean fresh winter water and Tuna are showing up when the weather permits. Back to Cape York again this week the winter fishery their is probably one of the best times of year, a greater variety of species and a very comfortable climate.
Until next week, Dave.
