Hinchinbrook 2007
Season 2007 has started off with a healthly wet season. February/March is our wet season in FNQ.
With good flushes in the rivers this is a good sign for another year of great fishing. Late last year the fishing at Hinchinbrook was excellent. Barramundi, Mangrove Jacks, Giant Trevally & Tarpon were on the list of species keen to eat both flies & lures.
Our new Scout Costa 170 has arrived from the USA, it is a purpose built flats boat. The only one of it’s kind in Australia and the only purpose built flats boat used by a guide in our country.
Because of the weather & a holiday it hasn’t done too many days out on the water, so I’ll get a few pics up when the opportunity arises.
The have been plenty of Barramundi & Tarpon around with the wet kicking in and the next few weeks should be interesting as the run off subsides.
Abel reels have put us on their Pro guide program so the new Scout will be equipped with Abels reels & G Loomis rods again this season, arguably the best fly tackle manufacturers in the world.
